Pony Rides

Growing up, I remember going to our local superstore and riding the pony for one penny. Now that we're back in Michigan, we have one of those stores, and the pony rides are still only one penny. The girls are pretty hit or miss on riding things. When we first moved here, Tannah really liked to ride Sandy, but for a while now, neither girl has wanted to actually get in the saddle. The love to go see the pony and say hi, and they've been asking me to put a penny in, but they don't want to ride the pony. Last night both girls decided to ride the pony together. Too much cuteness:)

Cherry Picking

Wei-Yand's sister and her children came to visit us over the 4th, and we decided to take the kids berry picking one day. We seem to have horrible luck when it comes to timing fruit picking, and true to form, the only fruit available to pick was tart cherries.

The fact that the cherries were super sour did not stop Tannah from sampling more than a few:)

If you can't tell, the girls had a blast with their cousins. It's too bad they live so far away, so we only get to see them once or twice per year.

Since the cherry's were so sour, we had to bake with them rather than eat them.raw. Cherry cobbler was a tasty way to end the day:)

Two Years and Three Months

I think I say this every month, but this age is so much fun! (Other than the fact that they will not sit still for pictures:)

At 27 months:
  • The girls are talking non-stop. They love to describe what everyone around them is doing, and they ask tons and tons of questions.
  • They love balls, bikes. books, and bags. They are also really into puzzles right now, but their favorite toys of the summer are their Cozy Coupes.
  • They are little water babies. They love swimming at the beach and playing with their water table.
  • They love fruit. During a meal, they will generally eat about two bites, push their plate away and say, "All done, I want fruit".Then they will tell us exactly which fruit they want. They love grapes, mangoes rasberries, strawberries, and blueberries. Fortunately after they eat their fruit they go back and eat more of the rest of their dinner.
  • They drink about  two sippy cups of milk per day. They are also starting to get open cups of water at dinner. They drink out of them with no problems, but we have to watch out for knocking the cups over.
  • They wear size 2T clothes, size 5 diapers, and size 7 shoes.
  • They sleep from around 7:30 pm until 7:00 am.  They generally sleep until 8 or 8:30 on the weekends, which is really nice for Mommy and Daddy. They are no longer sleeping in cribs (sob!), but more on that later.
  • They are starting to play with each other more and more. They are doing really well with sharing and taking turns.
Life is a lot of fun around here. They love going for walks and playing on the beach!

We've had lots of changes around here, but things have been very busy, so more updates soon. For now, here are mommy's little firecrackers and their cousin.
