Attention

If you don't want to draw attention to yourself, do not bring these two cuties in these two cute bathing suits to the beach:) You will get tons of comments on both the girls and the suits.

Father's Day

We spent Father's Day at the beach this year. We are fortunate to live near some gorgeous beaches, and also fortunate that our girls love the water, even when it's very, very, very cold.

Serious about her sandcastle bucket.

Waiting for the first wave to touch her toes.

The very (very, very) cold water didn't even phase Tannah.

Harper, however, was not impressed at first. She kept saying, "it's told!".

She got over that pretty quickly when she saw how much fun Tannah was having wading in to fill her bucket.

Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the girls with Wei-Yand. I really need to to a better job with that.

Carnival!

We got invited to the summer picnic of a company with whom I work. They billed it as a carnival, and it didn't disappoint. The girls received some super nice presents, there was a bouncy house, a ball pit, and a giant blow-up obstacle course. There was also a small Ferris wheel, which the girls did not attempt to ride (maybe next year). The girls loved the ball pit and the obstacle course. They only stayed in the bouncy house for a few minutes because Tannah bounced into another child and bit her tongue:( It was a great evening!

Tannah even got her face painted! She hopped right up into the clown's chair:)

Playing Dress-up

We went to a birthday party for one of my college friend's children a couple weeks ago.  Her daughter received some princess dress-up clothes for her birthday. We haven't hit the big time princess frenzy in our house, and I'm just fine with avoiding it for as long as possible, but seeing the girls in those little dresses with crowns on their heads and big smiles on their faces made my heart swell.  Love these girls so much!

Future Doctors

The girls got dress-up doctor's clothes and tools for their birthday (although they were just delivered this weekend). They opened them up and put them right on. They look a little overwhelmed in the pictures, but they love, love, love giving shots and checking people's ears.

Checking out their babies

Tannah's baby needed a shot.

Checking Harper's ears:)

Two Years and Two Months

26 months is all sorts of fun. The girls are talking up a storm and full of energy.

At 26 months:
  • The girls are talking up a storm. They love to point out buses and motorcycles when we're driving, and    they speak in 3-6 word sentences.
  • Tannah can count to 10 (although she always skips 7). Both girls can sing their ABC's.
  • They love balls, bikes. books, and bags. They are also really into puzzles right now.
  • They love parks and slides. They have figured out how to climb up slides, and they love to do that over and over and over.
  • They love fruit. During a meal, they will generally eat about two bites, push their plate away and say, "All done, I want fruit". Fortunately after they eat their fruit they go back and eat more of the rest of their dinner.
  • They drink about  two sippy cups of milk per day. They are also starting to get open cups of water at dinner. They drink out of them with no problems, but we have to watch out for knocking the cups over.
  • They wear size 2T clothes, size 5 diapers, and size 6 shoes.
  • They like to dress themselves and generally do everything possible by themselves. When we went to the park today, I must have heard "no, mama" at least 10 times when I was trying to help Harper do something.
  • They sleep from around 7:30 pm until 7:00 am.  They generally sleep until 8 or 8:30 on the weekends, which is really nice for Mommy and Daddy.
  • They are starting to play with each other more and more. They are doing really well with sharing and taking turns.
Life is a lot of fun around here. I can't wait until the water warms up and we can start hitting the beach on the weekends!

Harper

A post about my sweet little Harper.  Don't get me wrong, both of the girls are super sweet, but there's just something about how quickly Harper is willing to share her fruit with Tannah after Tannah has already scarfed down her own and how Harper will come over to pat Tannah on the back when Tannah is crying that melts my heart. She's such a good sister. And oh so cute:)

Giving her sister drinks of tea. I die of cuteness:)
