Water Balloons

I think the girl learned about water balloons at Darcy's house, and as we had some balloons left over from the 4th of July parade, the girls asked to make some water balloons.

They were big balloons with not much water, so it took a lot to pop them.

Four Years and Four Months!

For the first time, the girls refused to take a picture on their "monthday." So, This picture is from last month, but it's adorable.

At 4 years and 4 months:
  • They love blowing bubbles, going to the beach, and playing dress up.
  • They love to color and do crafts.
  • We've been reading Winnie-the-Pooh at night, which means so much to me because my dad used to read it to me, when I was little.
  • They love to sing. They make up songs and have started singing songs off the radio (which doesn't always thrill me).
  • They wear size 5T shirts and pants. They wear size 10 shoes.
  • They sleep from about 8:30 until 7. They nap for about 45 minutes during the week and often skip naps on weekends. Bedtime has been a struggle again lately.
  • They still love their blankies and any number of rotating stuffed animals. Their favorite changes daily/weekly.
  • They love helping and are always asking to "do chores". They especially love sweeping and doing dishes.
  • They've been asking for snuggles every night, so we usually lay with them for a few minutes after reading books and singing our good night song.

    Hair Cuts!

The girls' hair has been a struggle for while because it's always falling in their eyes, and they would prefer to always wear it down. They also have taken to coming out of their room after 10 or so minutes to ask me to pull it back because their necks are hot. I've mentioned cutting their hair a few times, but they always talk about wanting Elsa braids, so I didn't think they would go for it. One day Tannah said she wanted to get her hair cut like a girl at daycare (a bob). She kept asking about when she could get her hair cut every day. Harper also said she wanted to get her hair cut.

Our neighbor cuts hair, so we ended up going over to her house for their hair cuts.

    A few before pictures:
