Visiting Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye

It had been far too long since we've seen Wei-Yand's parents, so we decided it was time to load up the girls and take a trip to Saint Louis. The girls generally do pretty well in the car, but during the 6 hour drive (more like 8 with babies) they definitely had their moments of not wanting to be in the car anymore. Luckily, they were full of hugs and kisses when we made it to Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye's.

I love, love, love watching the girls interact with each other, so I was beyond thrilled when I caught a picture of Tannah giving Harper a hug.  Love these girls so much!

Harper Walks!

When Tannah started walking, she was very tentative.  She took her first steps, and then for weeks she would only take one or two steps here and there.  She would flat out refuse to even attempt to walk if she wasn't in the mood, if she fell down she would just crawl, and it took her almost a month to really start walking.

Harper has taken a little longer to take her first steps, but I figured that once she started, she would take right off.  Boy was I right.  I feel like she just took her first steps and all of the sudden she thought she could run.  For the record, she couldn't, but she sure did try.  I am amazed at how quickly she went from a few steps to stumbling down the hallway bouncing off the walls to walking down a sidewalk waving at people.  I seriously feel like it happened overnight.  For example, this first video was taken on a Saturday.



On Monday morning, Wei-Yand and I were laughing  because she looked like a little pinball bouncing off the walls as she walked down the hallway.  I picked her up from daycare and brought her home, and all of the sudden she could do this:

She's still not quite as stable or fast as Tannah, but I'm sure they'll be racing down the hallways of our new house in no time.

Saying Goodbye

I had a really hard time saying goodbye to my co-workers and an even harder time saying goodbye to the girls' daycare teachers.  We were very lucky to find a daycare that we loved, and knowing that the girls had very loving, caring teachers made it easy to leave one in someone else's care five days a week.

I brought my camera in one day last week to get a few pictures of the girls with their teachers.  Their teachers also made them a card with their hand prints as well as the hand prints of all of the babies in their class.  I still get teary when I look at it.  They were too sweet.

The pigs were a gift from their teachers because the girls absolutely loved a giant stuffed pig that they had in their classroom.  We're definitely going to miss everyone at their daycare!

Laugh and Learn

I've had these pictures loaded for a while, but have been slacking about blogging lately. These were taken before Harper started to walk. She's off and running now. I'm so glad we got the girls their laugh and learn home for Christmas. They love to play with it, and they're constantly discovering new features.

14 Months!

Today was my last day of work and the girls last day of daycare.  We had to say lots of goodbyes, which have never been easy for me.  Therefore, I'm exhausted and don't even have the energy to put together a list of what the girls are doing right now (a lot).  I did manage to get a picture of them, so that has to count for something:)

They are sweet, busy, delightful little girls.  Giving them hugs and kisses (and getting them back) when I picked them up from daycare was a nice ending to a very long, draining day.

Fountains

We took another house hunting trip last weekend, but this time the girls came with us.  They held up really well while we dragged them through six houses, but we started to have some major meltdowns while we were drawing up the offer documents (yes, we made an offer on a house!).  After a nice long nap, we had such a nice night.  Wei-Yand and I took the girls for a walk down by the lake. 

There's a fountain down by the beach, and the girls were very interested in it.  Both girls wanted to touch the water.  You have to watch out though because every so often the fountains turn off and these big canons start spraying water up in the air.  Luckily, we made it out in time.

After playing in the fountain, we had dinner at a local pizza place.  It was delicious, and the girls got their first taste of pizza.  Harper ate a whole piece, but Tannah wasn't quite as interested (of course, she had consumed a large quantity of puffs and baby ravioli while waiting for the pizza). 

After dinner we took a walk down town and shared an ice cream cone.  Both girls really enjoyed that (as did their mommy and daddy:).  I'm so excited for our move!
