I want a tractor for Christmas

I think I mentioned in a previous post that the girls' Christmas list has been pretty consistent throughout the holiday season: a monkey, a baby, a big bottle for the baby, and a tractor. I can pretty much handle all of those, except the tractor had me a little stumped. Santa brought them little John Deere tractors at the twins club party last weekend, and the girls have kept "tractor" on their list.

Upon further questioning, Tannah informed me that she wants a pink tractor that she can drive and her baby can sit next to her and she can put her monkey in the back seat. From that I deduced that they want pink Barbie jeeps:)

With all the talk about tractors, they were absolutely thrilled to get to sit with Grandpa and take a picture on his big orange tractor when he took a break from plowing the driveway.

Santa

I had high hopes for visiting Santa this year, because the girls have been very excited to see him and tell him what they want for Christmas (a monkey, a baby, a big bottle for the baby, and a tractor:).

We went to the twins club party last weekend, and the girls froze up as soon as Santa and Mrs. Claus came in the room. Tannah's name was called first, and she would only walk up to see them if I came as well. Harper wanted to be held the whole time.

When Santa gave Tannah her present, she looked at me and said "is this my baby?". It was a tractor, and she really liked it, but she kept asking about her baby for the rest of the party. I kept telling her that it was a good thing that she saw Santa and told him that she wants a baby because maybe he will bring her one on Christmas morning.

They had a blast, and it was a really nice event.

Pretty LIghts

We took the girls downtown last night to walk along the bluff and see the Christmas lights. It was freezing, but we bundled the girls up, and they never complained about the cold.  Christmas music plays all along the bluff, and the girls got a big kick out of the lights.

We took a mid-walk hot cocoa break. The girls thought that was fantastic.

You can kind of see Harper toward the left side of the huge tree.

From the side, Frosty looked like a penguin. I made the mistake of telling the girls that I saw a penguin, and we would walk to the penguin before turning around. Tannah kept talking about seeing the penguin for the rest of the night.

It was such a nice evening, really reinforced how much I love our little town.

32 Months!

2 and a half is such a fun age. Seriously, so much fun. A lot of work, but so much fun.

At 32 months:

• They love to sing and dance. Their favorite song is "Animal Action".
• They love to color, paint, take care of their babies, and "cook" in their kitchen.love to put their babies and stuffed animals down for naps, and then run around saying "shhhh, baby/puppy is sleeping. It's so cute. They also put their stuffed animals in time out from time to time.
• They are talking up a storm, and learn new words all time.
• They love chase each other. We have a staircase in the center of our house that the girls love to run around. They also like to run up to me and say that they need to be picked up because their sister is going to "get them". 
• They still love to look for the horses after daycare every day. They often ask to drive past the horse farm in both directions.
• Tannah has 20 teeth, and Harper has 18.
• They wear size 3T clothes (although still some 2T pants because they are skinny minnies). They wear size 7 shoes.
• They sleep from about 8 until 7. On weekends, they often sleep until after 8.
• They love their blankies and puppies and big hugs and kisses and to be tucked in every night. Tannah is developing quite the collection of toys with which she sleeps. The list includes blankie, big puppy, black puppy, piglet, and Sparkle the elf.
• They love dogs and have to give their favorite dog, Kaluha, hugs and kisses before we leave daycare every day.

They got to use Puddle Jumpers for the first time this weekend, and it was so amazing to see them swimming on their own. They were so excited about it!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Decorating the tree with the girls was just as much fun as I thought it would be:)

The girls loved putting ornaments on the tree and kept asking if each ornament was "mines":). Love them!
