Straws

The girls love to drink out of straws, so I gave them big girl cups one day when they were watching me cook their dinner.

I seriously cannot handle how big they are getting!

More Thanksgiving Pictures

We ended up getting invited to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving, which was really nice because I came down with a cold and didn't really have the energy to make a big Thanksgiving dinner.  I had a hard enough time making the two dishes I brought (sweet potato casserole and 7-layer salad - both Wei-Yand's requests).

My aunt has a horse and rabbits, so the girls enjoyed going out to the barn to see the animals.

It was very windy, but quite warm for November in Michigan.

PB&J for dinner since we had our big meal for lunch.

When the girls got their PJ's on before our drive home, my cousins put their footie PJ's on as well.

Thankful

I have a lot for which to be thankful this year, but the top of my list is this beautiful family.  I love them so much.

The Beach

One of my favorites parts of living in Michigan is living so close to the beach.  We've been lucky to have some fantastic weather this fall, so we took the girls to the beach a few weeks ago on a particularly nice day.  The girls love playing in the sand, and I had an idea that maybe I would be able to get a cute picture of the girls for the Christmas card.  I got lots of pictures, but I find it nearly impossible to get a picture of the girls when they are both looking at the camera and smiling.  They generally ignore me when I'm trying to get their attention for a picture, and they most definitely do not smile on command.

I tried to bribe them with goldfish crackers.  Tannah's signing "more".

Hugs!

Finally some smiles:)

Getting Ready for Winter

It's been cooling down around here, so we had to pull our winter gear out last week.  I bought the girls winter coats in January of 2011.  That's three months before they were born.  They were a fantastic deal, and I thought they would be able to wear them last winter.  Actually, they fit this winter:)

The girls look so cute in their little hats and puffy coats.

19 Months!

The girls started daycare this week.  They aren't getting as much sleep as they normally do, and Harper is either teething or has a little cold.  They were not cooperating when I tried to take their 19th month picture.

Reading books and combing hair - two of their favorite activities.

Sippies of milk before bed.

At 19 months:
  • The girls love books (especially books that have flaps to lift), pushing toys all over the house, and their blankets.
  • They regularly say "more" and "up".
  • They know that ducks say "quack", cows say "moo", tigers say "roar", and dogs say "rough".
  • We're still dealing with major tantrums on a regular basis. The biting seems to have slowed down, but they sometimes pinch.
  • They love hot dogs, yogurt, goldfish crackers, cheese, and pretty much all fruit.
  • They drink about three sippy cups of milk per day.
  • They really like to use utensils.
  • They wear size 18-24 month shirts and 12-18 month pants, size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 at night, and size 5 shoes.
  • They love to "help". They like to throw their diapers away, and we've been working with them to pick up their books and blocks.
  • They love to dump their mega blocks on the floor.
  • They love to stand on their chairs and look out the window.  They can climb up on our dining room chairs, and we have to make sure that we don't leave anything too close to the edge of our counters.
  • They give fantastic hugs and kisses.
  • They slept from around 7:30 or 8 until about 8:30 am until we started waking them up at 6:30 for daycare.  They now go to bed around 7:15.  They take one nap, but haven't been sleeping for very long at daycare.
  • Tannah has 16 teeth, and Harper has 12.

The transition to daycare this week has been a little rough.  I'm really hoping that we settle into our new routine soon.

Boo!

I know I'm late for more Halloween posts, but life has been busy lately.  Two days before Halloween, the girls were eating dinner when the doorbell rang.  I went to answer the door, and this is what I found.

We got booed, and according to the letter in the pumpkin, we had one day to boo two more families.  Figuring out who to boo and what to give is stressful.

The girls loved the light sticks and the pumpkin.

Wei-Yand enjoyed the candy, and I enjoyed sending Wei-Yand out to boo our neighbors and watching him come sprinting through the back yard to avoid being seen.
