Bubbles!

The girls got bubbles in their Easter baskets.  They love bubbles, and they love to try to blow bubbles, but they haven't quite mastered it yet.

My dad spotted bubbles floating past the window one day (we were on the ninth floor), and when we went out to investigate the boys in the condo across from ours had little bubble machines.  A short trip to the store (and some MacGyvering by Uncle Joe to get the battery compartment open), and we were in business.

Playgrounds!

The girls love playgrounds.  They don't really care if it's a small little tikes toddler set with a slide or a giant playground for big kids.  We stayed in a three bedroom condo while on vacation, which can start to feel a little small with six adults, two toddlers, and an infant, so we tried to be outside as much as possible.  I took the girls to a park one afternoon while Wei-Yand and my mom went to the store.  They love slides so much. They slide down and run right back to climb up again, laughing the whole way.

The Beach

The girls warmed up to the sand by our second day of vacation, although they still weren't interested in the water.  They loved playing with their shovels and pails.  I would make them sandcastles and turtles, and they squealed as they knocked them over.  They also loved burying my feet and having me bury theirs.

Their little swimsuits just kill me.  So cute!

Easter

Our second day of vacation was Easter, so of course the Easter Bunny had to pay us a visit in Florida.

Stickers, straws, shoes, books, bubbles, and yogurt-covered raisins were a big hit!

Vacation!

We spent spring break in Florida with my parents and my sister's family.  I was a little nervous about flying with the girls, but they did so well.  We flew back two days before their birthday, so they flew on our laps.  They got a little restless at times, but were very well-behaved:)  It helped that my parents drove down to FL, so they took almost all of our luggage.

They are such big girls.  They love to walk and will demand it if they so desire.

They loved watching the airplanes!

When we finally made it to our condo, I was so excited to take the girls out to the beach.  They wanted nothing to do with the sand or the water.  I was really surprised because they loved going to the beach last year.  Luckily, they remembered that they love playing in the sand very quickly, and we had them out in the ocean within a few days.

Two Year Well Baby

The girls had their two-year well baby appointment yesterday.  They are healthy growing girls, and they didn't make a peep during the toe-prick to test their hemoglobin.  Harper's was in the normal range, but a little low, so it looks like it's time to start a multi-vitamin.  Here are the stats:

Harper - 6 lbs 6 oz (30th percentile), 21.5 inches (75th percentile)

Tannah - 7 lbs 7 oz (60th percentile), 20.5 inches

Harper - 11 lbs 2 oz (40th percentile), 23 inches (75th percentile)

Tannah - 12 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile), 23.25 inches (80th percentile)

We Are Two!

Happy Birthday Harper and Tannah!  I cannot believe how fast the past two years have flown by.  I am so lucky to be able to call these two little girls mine.  They are sweet, funny, curious, feisty little girls, and I love them so much.

The girls got balance bikes for their birthday.  These little bikes don't have pedals, and they are supposed to help kids learn balance without needing training wheels.  Tannah walked hers around our driveway, but Harper wanted nothing to do with it.  She went over to her tricycle and stood there until we got it down for her.

We moved inside for more present/card opening.  I really tried to get them to stand together and smile for a picture, but that was nearly impossible.

After dinner, it was time for cake.  Despite only having it a few times in their short lives, the girls apparently love cake.

They did not love when we took the wrapper off of their cupcakes.

Tannah was happily digging in until Harper's melt down.

Eventually, they both decided they would rather eat cake than cry.

At two years old:

• The girls love their blankies, puppies, rarws (panda blankets), play kitchen, tricycles, balls, and books.
• They wear size 2T shirts and 18-24 month or 2T pants.  They wear size 5 diapers and size 6 shoes.
• They love to eat fruit, and are pretty good at trying new food.  Clementines and applesauce are particular favorites.
• They love to sing, especially EIEIO (which they randomly start singing whenever the mood moves them).
• They love to go down slides and show no fear climbing up ladders.
• They sleep from about 7 pm to about 7 am (sometimes as late as 8:30 on the weekends!).
• They love to give hugs and kisses, and are very good at delaying bed time by asking for more hugs and kisses. They also love to give kisses all over our faces (foreheads, cheeks, ears, eyes), and giggle the whole time.
• They love each other (despite the ever-present fighting) so much.  This morning, Tannah had a hard time waking up, and Harper came over to pat her on the back and give her kisses.  Harper also kept asking to give Tannah a kiss before she went to bed.  I melt.
• Tannah is more talkative than Harper, but I'm amazed at how much their vocabulary is increasing every day.  They are also starting to use two word sentences.  One of their favorite new phrases is "Eww, gross":)  They are little parrots, so everyone around them needs to watch what they say.

They are so much fun, and I love watching them grow and learn.  It has been another amazing year with my sweeties!
