4th of July

Wei-Yand's sister and her kids came to spend the holiday with us again this year, and our neighborhood held a block party complete with a fantastic fireworks show. We decided to let the girls stay up if they could make it to watch the fireworks. They were a little nervous because we told them that fireworks are a little like lightning, but really pretty. They're going through an anti-thunderstorm phase, so they weren't sure how they felt about that.

The girls really enjoyed the fireworks, although Harper held my hand the entire time. What a sweetie!

The block party started with a bike parade, so we decorated two bikes and a scooter.

I put the girls down for a late nap. I don't think Tannah actually slept, but I had to wake Harper up at 6:30 for the party. She didn't want to ride a bike in the parade, so we decorated her shopping cart. This was what I got when I asked to take her picture.

The only picture I got of just the girls together.

This little girl is so fantastic. The whole parade took off, and she marched along with her shopping cart smiling away as everyone else took off. Love her!

Any my sweet little Tannah kept stopping to wait for Harper. This was the view when everyone else in the parade had already turned the corner.

Happy Independence Day!
