First Loose Tooth!

I was out of town a lot of the first two weeks of May for work. During the second week, on a phone call Tannah announced that she had a loose tooth. Wei-Yand confirmed this for me. I still wasn't prepared to come home to find a very loose tooth and a grown-up tooth coming in behind her baby teeth. I told her to get to wiggling that tooth so her new tooth would have room to come in.

She wiggled like a champ and also let me push on it some. After a few days and a particularly big push from me, I felt the tooth give way. I told her that one more pull and it would come out, and I was right.

Tannah lost her first tooth on May 17, 2016.

My parents had bought a tooth container as a souvenir from France, so we used that to leave her tooth for the Tooth Fairy.

 Unfortunately, it's hard to be a twin some times. Harper was devastated that she "came out of my belly first," but Tannah lost the first tooth. Poor baby.

Fortunately, the Tooth Fairy left Harper a note telling her that she'd be visiting soon, and that cheered her up.

T-ball

Last year the girls played instructional t-ball, so when I signed them up this year, I assumed it would be the same. Nope - they had two practices, and jumped into games.

I managed to talk them into pictures in the yard before their team pictures, because I just cannot handle how adorable this is!

5th Birthday Party

We had a PJ Masks birthday party for the girls (2 months ago, but who's counting:).

All of the kids got capes and masks in their goodie bags. I made special Owlette capes for the girls.

I made a punch game that looked like a city scene. It was so much work, but turned out so cute. Then it was destroyed in about 5 seconds:). We played a version of musical chairs, and when the kids got out, they got to go punch out a window to get a prize behind it.

We also played Pin the Mask on the Superhero.

I bought the cake from Costco this year but I made Owlette, Catboy, and Gekko masks out of fondant.

It was too windy outside, so we had to move inside to blow out candles.

The girls got all sorts of great presents. They were so excited to receive kites and fur real pet babies.

 

We got so lucky with the weather, and it was such a fun day!

5 Years and 2 Months

I made it five years without missing a monthly update, which I think is pretty good. Five years and 1 month ended my streak. We've been so busy between swimming and t-ball. I was also traveling the first two weeks of May, then Wei-Yand was traveling the last two weeks. Here's hoping that summer is a little more relaxing!

At 5 years and 2 months:

• The girls are loving t-ball so much. They think Coach Melissa is great, and they're having so much fun. I love it. They are the youngest on the team, and while their skills may be lacking, I love seeing how well they interact socially with the other girls.
• They're excited for summer vacation and to get to hang out with the "big kids" at Darcy's house. I'm mentally preparing for the end of the summer when we have to say goodbye to Darcy. We've been so lucky to have her in the girls' lives. They love her so much, and she feels the same about them. Her mom came to the girls' t-ball game tonight, and was telling me how much she's going to miss the girls.
• They both did great and swimming this year, and are moving up to level three for the next session. I think we'll take the summer off, and start again in the fall.
• We had a garage sale last month, and they found their lovies in the basement, so they've been sleeping with their lovies in addition to their blankies lately.
• They still sleep together 95% of the time. Probably half of the nights they spend alone are because we separate them.
• They wear size 5 and 6 clothes and size 11 shoes, but are moving up into size 12's.
• Tannah has lost one tooth!
• The girls love jumping on our neighbors trampoline and playing outside.

This age is so much fun, and I'm treasuring it!

Last Day of Preschool

Today was the girls' last day of preschool. They have loved preschool, so I'm really happy they had great teachers and an excellent start to their school career. Today they mentioned that they will miss Miss Krieger, Mrs. Wollberg, and Mrs. Hurt. But, they're looking forward to summer vacation.

I took them for breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts, and Nana took them to Dairy Queen for lunch. They thought it was the best day ever:).

Behind

I'm so far behind in my posting, but I have lots to share. We started t-ball and lost our first tooth!! I need life to slow down so I have time to post more! Hopefully once t-ball and swimming are over, life will calm down a bit:).

Disney Cruise Day 5: Castaway Cay

I had heard great things about Castaway Cay, but I wasn't prepared for how fantastic it would be.

We ate breakfast on board, but wanted to make sure we could meet Daisy on the island. She was located right near the post office.

We took the tram to the main beaches, but stopped to check out some scenery along the way.

There are two family beaches and one adults-only beach on Castaway Cay. We headed to the 2nd family beach near the water slides.

When we got back on the ship, we wanted to take the chance to meet some of the characters (namely Chip and Dale and Daisy) for the last time. First up was Minnie.

We went up to Deck 10 to take some pictures of the island.

Then back inside to meet Chip and Dale.

That Elsa purse was part of Tannah's souvenir. She lost it later that night, and we never found it:(.

And Belle was randomly walking around.

The show that night was Dreams, which was amazing. I really enjoyed it. We had dinner in Parrot Cay, then we went to the farewell party. I wasn't prepared with my camera, but a bunch of the characters came out and there was some time for people to interact with them. Tannah met Stitch, which was hilarious, but Harper was scared. Mickey said "see ya real soon," and then it was time to put our bags out in the hall to be taken off the boat in the morning.

We had so much fun on the cruise, I would highly recommend it. People recognized the girls in the airport as the ones dressed as Dale and Daisy. So many great memories!
