2 Years and 1 Month

I think 2 is about the time when you stop referring to your childrens' age in months, so the girls are 2 years and 1 month.

At 2 years 1 month:

  •  The girls love books, their blankies, their water table, and slides.
  • They are speaking in 4-5 word sentences and love to name things. We understand most of what they say, but even if we understand the words, we sometimes have to decipher the full meaning.  For example, when Harper says, "I sit down", she means "I want to sit on your lap, mommy:)".
  • They have strong opinions on what they want - "no purple shoes mama, I want wear boots".
  • They love meat loaf, yogurt, goldfish crackers, green beans, and pretty much all fruit.
  • They drink about three sippy cups of milk per day.
  • They wear size 2T shirts and a mixture of 18-24 and 2T pants. They wear size 5 diapers and size 6 shoes.
  • They love shoes and are very particular about which ones they wear.  I bought them some adorable, but not the most supportive, cowboy boots for their two year pictures, and they ask to wear them pretty much every day.
  • They are so sweet with each other.  Tannah has a tendency to melt down at the drop of a hat, and Harper will go over and pat her back and say "it's ok" when Tannah is having a crying fit.
  • They love music, dancing, and nursery rhymes.  They love to sing EIEIO and the ABC's.
  • They give fantastic hugs and kisses.
  • They sleep from about  7:30 until 7, and they take one nap.
  • They are moving up to the Toddler room at daycare this week, and they love to tell us the names of all of their friends at school.

  • They bring such joy to my life. If I'm having a rough day, a smile or a giggle from them is sure to turn things around. I am the luckiest.
