Big Girl Beds

During the last week of June, the girls had started throwing one leg over the side of their cribs and hoisting themselves up. I had recently purchased two twin beds and a dresser that I planned to paint (in my own time) for their big girl room. I was definitely not ready to switch them to beds so soon, but we were concerned that they were a shift in weight away from being over the edge.

When the girls went to visit my parents for a few days, we started the transition. First, I painted their room. Next, Wei-Yand took apart their cribs, while I tried to hold back the tears:)

The girls slept on their mattresses on the floor for a few nights to make sure that they would stay in the beds and to give me a chance to finish painting their beds. I spent way too much time during my vacation working on that, but I'm pleased with how they turned out. The girls like it too:)

I'm happy to report, that they've done really, really well in their beds. They've only come out of their room once or twice, and it's super adorable to go into their room in the morning and find them sleeping in one bed.

On the down side, we can't leave any wipes or lotion in their room because they will get into them. Picture walking in to the room to find Tannah covered in lotion. They also go into their drawers and closet on a regular basis. They found the hats they are wearing in the pictures in their drawer, and I found Tannah wearing hers one morning, while Harper's was right next to her in bed. So cute!
