Two Years and Four Months

The summer is just flying by, and the girls are growing every day. We had some cooler weather a week or so ago, so I pulled out some of their long-sleeved clothes from last spring. Things that were long/big on them just a few months ago will likely not make it through the fall. They are growing and learning every day.

At 28 months:

  • They are finally bribable! I got them to sit together for this picture by offering them goldfish "cookies":)
  • They are little sponges. They repeat everything and are so talkative. They love to point out trucks and motorcycles. Our ride to and from daycare is filled with, "yellow truck mama!" and "motorcycle mama". They keep repeating it at an increasing volume until I acknowledge them.
  • They are capable of conversations. Today Tannah told me that she had a blueberry bagel, Angie had yogurt, and Allie didn't feel well so her daddy came to get her. That was in response to what did you do at school.
  • They are very good at extending bedtime. We always sing songs before bed, and when we sing Old McDonald, I let them choose the animals. We usually do one or two, but tonight Old McDonald had a cow, a bear, a kitty cat, a lion, and a penguin. How can you say no to such an exotic farm?
  • Tannah has 19 teeth, and Harper still has 16.
  • They are learning to blame each other for things. Last night one of them ripped the shade in their room. This morning, Tannah told me that Harper did it, and Harper told me that Tannah did it. I think I need a video monitor.
  • They wear size 2T clothes, although they are moving into 3T for tops. They wear size 7 shoes and size 5 diapers.
  • They sleep from about 8 until 7. Some nights they stay up far to late in their bedroom, and they don't like to get out of bed until they are good and ready. We often have to wake them up during the week, and Harper always complains that it's "too bright" when I turn on the light.
  • They love their blankies, puppies, pandas, babies, and lambies. Their cozy coupes are their favorite outdoor toys, but they also love balls, bubbles, slides, and anything to do with the water.
They are the sweeties little girls, and I love them to pieces!
