In a case of unfortunate timing, Wei-Yand was in Iowa and I had to be in Chicago for a meeting on the girls' first day of 4's Preschool. The first day was the same as last year in that class was only 1 hour, and a parent was supposed to attend with the kids to get them used to the new environment.
I felt horrible when I realized that I wouldn't be able to attend, but I was comforted by the fact that the girls' teach and classroom were the same as last year, and so were the vast majority of their classmates. It also helped that Nana (Darcy's mom), who drives the girls to Darcy's after preschool agreed to attend with the girls.
She arranged for a special outing with the girls before school, and she took them to Dunkin' Donuts. They tell me they had a donut and chocolate milk. She said that it was absolutely adorable when their teach told the class that the moms and dads would go out in the hall to wait for the kids while she read the kids a story. The girls loudly announced, and the Nana <3 <3 <3.
They had a fantastic day and are looking forward to having show and tell and snack!
