Almost 4.5 and seeming more grown up every day.
At 4 years and 5 months:
They love swimming and are both willing to go under. Tannah has basically taught herself how to swim, and Harper has become so much braver in the water this summer.
They love to play dress up and play outside.
They've started singing songs off of the radio, but they don't always know the correct words. I hear a lot of "bandaids don't fix boomer holes" these days.
They love going to the library and picking out books and movies. They also always want to play on the computer for a while.
They love to play games and "play with me," which consists of me tickling them and raising them up into the air.
They wear size 5T shirts and pants. They wear size 11 shoes.
They sleep from about 8:30 until 7. They nap for about 45 minutes during the week and often skip naps on weekends.
They still love their blankies and any number of rotating stuffed animals. Their favorite changes daily/weekly.
They love helping and are always asking to "do chores". They especially love sweeping and doing dishes.
They've been asking for snuggles every night, so we usually lay with them for a few minutes after reading books and singing our good night song.
They've started acting out little scenarios together. The other day I overheard Harper saying, "pretend we have to say goodbye." Then the girls hugged, and Tannah said, "I know this will be hard." They were cracking me up.
The girls want to talk about our days over dinner every night, but they always want me to go first.
We took the girls on their first day "adventure" to Chicago. We had lunch in Chinatown, went to Maggie Daley Park, and had deep dish pizza for dinner. It was a great day.
When you're in the thick of infant and toddler twins, it can sometimes be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think we're solidly in the light now. The girls are so much fun. I love playing with them and getting to experience new adventures.
