Two Years and Nine Months

I can't believe how quickly we're approaching three years old. The girls are growing and learning every day.  My poor Tannah bug has a cold. She's had a really rough time this fall/winter.

At 33 months:
  • They love to sing and dance. Their favorite song is "Animal Action", but they also love "The Hotdog Dance, and they do a mean Hokey Pokey.
  • They love to color, paint, take care of their babies, and "cook" in their kitchen.love to put their babies and stuffed animals down for naps, and then run around saying "shhhh, baby/puppy is sleeping. It's so cute. They also put their stuffed animals in time out from time to time.
  • Favorite toys from Christmas are their "tractor", monkeys, and babies and baby goodies. They also love their easel.
  • They say the funniest things. I was cooking one day while they were playing with their tractor (which they love to fill with toys and take trips). I overheard them saying "we're on a mission to save the world!". Tannah also marched into the kitchen one day and told me "ok, we're all packed up, and we're going to Auntie Hillary's house. We'll be back soon." Tannah was trying to help Harper do something one day, and when Tannah wasn't able to do it either she said, "sorry sweetie":).
  • They are definitely picking up our speech patterns and mannerisms. Harper was walking around the kitchen one day saying "what's the plan?" (Wei-Yand says this a lot), and Tannah always says "wait, wait". It wasn't until after she started saying it that I realized I always say that:)
  • They can go between being the best of friends to fighting like cats and dogs in about two seconds. When they are playing together and being sweet, it's truly amazing to watch.
  • They love chase each other. We have a staircase in the center of our house that the girls love to run around. They also like to run up to me and say that they need to be picked up because their sister is going to "get them".
  • They still love to look for the horses after daycare every day. They often ask to drive past the horse farm in both directions.
  • Tannah has 20 teeth, and Harper has 19.
  • They wear size 3T clothes (although still some 2T pants because they are skinny minnies). They wear size 7 shoes.
  • They sleep from about 8 until 7.
  • They love their blankies and puppies and big hugs and kisses and to be tucked in every night. Tannah is developing quite the collection of toys with which she sleeps. The list includes blankie, big puppy, black puppy, piglet, and her monkey. Harper sticks to blankie, little puppy, penguin, and her her monkey.
  • They love dogs and have to give their favorite dog, Kaluha, hugs and kisses before we leave daycare every day.
  • They love the snow and playing outside, but they aren't very impressed that they can't ride bikes in our winter wonderland.

They got to use Puddle Jumpers for the first time this weekend, and it was so amazing to see them swimming on their own. They were so excited about it!
